Then the Auburn Junior Vet Camp may be just the place for you.

This amazing vet camp gives future veterinarians an opportunity to explore many different areas of veterinary medicine and get to know other kids in the same age group who have the same dream of becoming a veterinarian.

Want to learn about animal anatomy and get up-close and personal with alpacas, cows, raptors, and exotic animals?

Interested in learning how to perform a physical exam on a pet or getting a microscopic view of parasites?

Far be it from me to say you shouldn’t follow your heart…the odds aren’t great for you guys. But if either of their parents decide to make it an issue they could. …but that realization will come soon enough, with or without your consent. And enjoy the May-December (haha) romance while it lasts. I’d say there’s so much over-reaction and tendency to make comments about the age difference, that the more you ignore them, the closer you’ll be to an appropriate perspective. If it doesn’t bother you, don’t let other people bother you about what’s not their business. Life is to short to get bent on what other people think.

Emmy23, you’ll probably find very soon that you have a LOT more in common with seniors and college guys. It’s stupid but every time you will find yourself saying “well he is only a year and a half apart from me”. If you really like this guy go for it, you got one more year and sorry but high school doesn’t matter and your prob not going to marry the guy, just do it for the experience and have fun!

This experience tends to be popular with both campers and counselors.

The session is held in state-of-the-art barns, where the campers get to interact with and touch all of the animals, including alpacas, llamas, cows, goats, and sheep.

We remember what it was like to be that age, and it’s the age most of us started really gaining an interest in veterinary medicine." In addition, the camp counselors are veterinary students currently attending Auburn University. Megan Hesson, one of the counselors, explains, “I think since our camp is run entirely by veterinary students, it offers a unique perspective into our world.

When coming up with camp activities, the counselors keep fun in mind, but they also include learning experiences that accurately depict what the veterinary students are being taught in school.

“One of our favorite professors always says ‘You didn’t come to vet school to pet puppies and kittens,’ so we tried to paint as good of a picture as we could about the many responsibilities of a veterinarian,” Megan says.

“Most of the campers who come here haven’t ever gotten to touch a cow, and when they’re here, they get to practice physical exams on [the animals],” Megan says.

The campers also get to: For camp counselor Ashley Thompson, this is her favorite day “because most kids don’t get the opportunity to see and understand where their food and milk come from and [how much] goes into caring for these animals.” Future veterinarians fascinated by amphibians, reptiles, and pocket pets may get a kick out of the exotic pet session.

But while in high school, the grade difference (which is a much bigger deal than the age difference) is enough that you’ll probably end up hurting him and dumping him inside of 3–6 months…tops. On my 18th birthday we got our own place, and we remained a couple for 3 additional years. I started dating my boyfriend when he was a freshman and I was a senior. Now that was weird, but as you get older it doesn’t really make a difference. Once in your twenties these moronic prejudices evaporate.
