It is when you do the following that you are setting yourself up for failure: AR 600-20 dtd (same regulation! )(b) Relationships between soldiers of different rank are prohibited if they:(1) Compromise, or appear to compromise, the integrity of supervisory authority or the chain of command. You can get married as long as you don't abuse your significant other's rank.In most cases, one of you will be removed from the others chain of command, but most likely it will be the one that isn't in a commanding position, because that will be detrimental to that soldier's career. So basically an enlisted member can marry an officer but just can't kiss, sleep with, live with, or anything else thats really fun before they get married...If an officer and an enlisted soldier wanted to get married and the officer wasnt in the enlisted soldier chain of command is this ok?It is implied that the two service members were not yet married and therefore (unless a prearranged marriage) they were dating!!CO and XO where both are 0-3s) that have any of the following effects:• Actually or appear to compromise the integrity of supervisory authority or the chain of command.• Cause actual or perceived partiality or unfairness.• Involve or appear to involve the improper use of rank or position for personal gain.• Are, or are perceived to be, exploitative in nature.• Cause an actual or clearly predictable adverse impact on discipline, authority, morale or the command's ability to accomplish its mission.Business Relationships and Gambling All business relationships between officers and enlisted service members, except for landlord-tenant relationships and one-time business transactions (such as the sale of a car) are prohibited. One of my commanders was in the same situation and they met the deadline for the requirements on the last day or one had to get out..I don't know for sure, I just know there were stipulations allowing it back a few years You are wrong if you get married, the officer will get into big trouble the reg states an officer and enlisted can not happen....thats straight forward..or she's career as an officer will be over!!!!

How do you marry somebody not knowing his/her profession? Anyhow, the marriage between an officer and enlisted is not prohibited, but it is very much encouraged for a one of the spouses to give up the Army. And everyone knows that the best sex is before you get married! Certain types of personal relationships between officers and enlisted personnel are prohibited.Prohibited relationships include- (1) On going business relationships between officers and enlisted personnel.....(I didn't quote the entire thing because this paragraph doesn't apply.) (2) [b:7a6c10e548]Dating, shared living accomodations other than those directed by operational requirements, and intimate or sexual relationships between officers and enlisted personnel[/b:7a6c10e548]You see, the original question to the thread was: A Question was brought to me, and im not sure on the answer. An enlisted member and an officer cannot date, live together, or marry unless they fall into one of those categories.[/quote:291593dd01]This is what was taught in PLDC at Fort Bragg. The Army cannot tell you who you can and cannot marry.
